Hey everyone,
I just wanted to let you know what I’m gonna be up to over the next
three years (God willing). As crazy as it seems I will be calling Africa home.
You may be wondering why in the world Africa?
Well you are not the only one. I too have wondered the same thing. Living in Africa isn’t always easy. Whether it’s sleeping on the
top bunk bed or having to work in Hospitals with chickens in the corner, Africa definitely has its challenges.
So WHY Africa? It’s simple… I am Following the Call. I lived a large part of my life doing things my own way, looking out for myself and building my own kingdom. When God came into my life my priorities changed. My heart’s desire is so different now, all I want to do live a life that has the most impact for God.
It is so exciting to know that God has called me to Africa but it isn’t always easy, I have found there are lots of challenges and its hard keeping up with Him sometimes.
But why Africa? It’s where my PASSION and God’s Call currently meet. I love being a Physiotherapist and I am so thankful that God has given me the ability to bless others in a very practical way.
But why Africa? It has stolen my heart. A lot of people in Africa have nothing (compared to us) but their smiles say they have everything. When my feet are on African soil, it feels like home away from home :)
WHAT’S the plan? I am volunteering with Mercy Ships where I’ll be the Rehab team leader which I am super excited about.
WHEN? As they say, all good things come to those who wait… in fact I have found by way of experience that God uses the “waiting times” to prepare and equip us for what He has in store.
The schedule? I am due to arrive in Guinea on the 21st of August 2012 where we will be until June 2013, then the plan is off to Congo... (keep in mind this is an African schedule so it may vary depending on a few things like…
